The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key role in the continuous delivery and lifecycle management of our software applications. They will be instrumental in automating processes, optimising systems and ensuring reliability and security of production environments with the software development teams.

Role Accountabilities

  • Working closely with the DevOps Lead in developing proposals and strategies
  • Responsible for identifying the need for automation across the development teams, finding ways to optimisation / automation
  • Researching, analysing and finding best practice solutions that align to the program needs
  • Able to collaborate and implement DevOps principles within squads.
  • Identifying security solutions
  • Proposes changes to the system architecture in order to enhance
  • Proactively champions, identifies & implements new initiatives & solutions that enhance our cloud infrastructure​
  • Manage and maintain 100+ AWS instances across 50+ VPCs globally
  • Manage a global fleet of tens of thousands of Linux powered IoT devices ​
  • Follow system monitoring and respond to alerts to ensure system uptime 
  • Identifying, investigating and analysing current business processes, procedures and work practices looking at new ways to incorporate into our products​
  • Develops documentation to support Devops ​
  • Proactively sees problems and solutions with the tech lead ​

Role Requirements

  • Min 3-5 years experience working within software development or platform engineering teams.
  • Experience in Agile methodology ​
  • IaC experience essential in cloudformation, terraform or AWS CDK – at least 1 out of 3 ​
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, EC2, Lambda, Sqs ​
  • Solid grasp of advanced serverless and containerized work loads​
  • Linux system and network administration skills (we mostly use Ubuntu) desirable​
  • Experience in configuration management tools such as Ansible desirable ​
  • Experience in monitoring and observability dashboard tools like SumoLogic, AWS CloudWatch ​
  • Deep understanding of architectural patterns for modern software stacks e.g. distributed architectures and microservices​
