What you’ll do
The Senior DevOps Engineer will lead the implementation and delivery of infrastructure as code and configuration management solutions across AWS and Azure cloud environments. This role focuses on mentoring developers in infrastructure automation and leading configuration management initiatives. The engineer will work closely with application development teams to foster infrastructure automation practices while maintaining DevOps principles focused on continuous integration and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
Due to the secure nature of this role, we are looking for candidates that has Australian citizenship and with an active security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead DevOps Culture Implementation: Champion and implement DevOps best practices across engineering teams, fostering collaboration between development and operations.
- Developer Collaboration: Work closely with application developers to adopt DevOps culture with a strong focus on infrastructure as code principles.
- Infrastructure Automation: Design and implement infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform for scalable and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
- Pipeline Management: Architect and optimize Azure DevOps pipelines and repository management strategies.
- Configuration Management: Implement and maintain configuration management solutions using Ansible and AWX for consistent environment configurations.
- Container Orchestration: Lead implementation of Kubernetes/OpenShift container orchestration solutions for application deployment and scaling.
- Secrets Management: Implement and maintain HashiCorp Vault solutions for secure secrets management (optional but preferred).
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive technical documentation and establish knowledge sharing practices across teams.
Here’s what you need:
- Extensive experience implementing infrastructure as code and configuration management solutions
- Proven experience working with application developers to adopt infrastructure automation practices focused on infrastructure as code
- Advanced proficiency with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repositories)
- Expert-level experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code across AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
- Strong experience with configuration management using Ansible (AWX preferred)
- Advanced Bash scripting capabilities for automation
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes container orchestration (OpenShift preferred)
- Proficiency with Docker containers and containerization strategies
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Australian citizenship with active baseline security clearance at minimum

- HashiCorp Vault for secrets management experience
