About the role 

We’re seeking a Senior Digital Integration Engineer to build, maintain and support Transurban’s mission-critical suite of integration services that power our digital channels. 

Join our dynamic team in a hands-on engineering role focused on back-end development, Agile delivery, and DevOps practices. You’ll influence technical design, lead integration development, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing digital solutions. 

As our Senior Digital Integration Engineer, you’ll contribute to meaningful, challenging, and exciting work that shapes the future of digital infrastructure and customer experience. 

Day-to-day, you will: 

• Design and build elegant, accessible applications aligned with Transurban’s digital strategy  

• Develop and maintain secure, scalable APIs and integrations  

• Deliver software using Agile and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines 

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and vendors to meet business requirements  

• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality and security standards  

• Mentor development teams and share technical expertise  

• Diagnose and resolve performance issues in production environments 

• Contribute to agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives  

• Maintain professional standards across the Software Development Life Cycle 

• Track and report on development progress and outcomes 

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

• 5+ years of experience in software development and API integration  

• Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, and OpenAPI specifications  

• Experience building serverless applications on AWS and/or GCP (Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate etc)  

• Strong understanding of mobile app & web application security and best practices 

• Familiarity with DevOps tools like GitHub Actions, CDK, and CI/CD frameworks 

• Emerging experience with AI capability e.g. Github co-pilot/Gemini etc 

• Agile delivery experience and hands-on experience of the ways of working and ceremonies 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills  

• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver pragmatic solutions  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities  

• Comfort with modern development tools (VS Code, IntelliJ, Jira, Confluence)
