A Snapshot

As the Senior Director, Corporate Communications based in our HQ in North Sydney, you will report directly to the Vice President Marketing & Corporate Communications, making your mark in a number of ways:

  • You will build and protect AirTrunk’s reputation as a leader in hyperscale data centres, sustainability and innovation and other areas with a range of audiences.
  • You will lead AirTrunk’s global communications strategy and program across internal and external communications.
  • You will manage AirTrunk’s global media relations ensuring AirTrunk remains top of mind with key journalists.
  • You will be an inspirational leader, forming strong trusted partnerships with other leaders, the ‘Marketing, Communications & Social Impact’ team and as a people leader.

Your Day to Day

  • Strategy – Lead AirTrunk’s corporate communications strategy, developing and executing the overarching strategy and program as well as specific plans to help meet AirTrunk’s business objectives. Forward plan to ensure both proactive and responsive corporate communications.
  • Positions – Form positions for AirTrunk across a wide range of topics and considering all stakeholders. Work with AirTrunk’s SMEs to develop key messaging to underpin AirTrunk’s positions and inform corporate communications.
  • External communications - Lead AirTrunk’s external communications including public relations and social media. Partner with the marketing team to build AirTrunk’s profile in local markets. Identify and facilitate impactful speaking opportunities and award entries.
  • Internal communications – create and ensure the delivery of the internal communications strategy and program, and help AirTrunk leaders inform, engage, excite and manage change for ‘AirTrunkers’ across APJ.
  • Issues Management – prepare for and manage issues that may arise to protect AirTrunk’s reputation and inform stakeholders in the event of an issue or crisis. Take the lead on the communications response.
  • Content development - develop AirTrunk’s content strategy, and create engaging, informative, and targeted content that is aligned to our brand and culturally relevant including reports, whitepapers, media releases, blogs and internal communications.
  • Business Partnerships – build proactive and strategic business partnerships with AirTrunk’s leaders and marketing and social impact teams. Understand all parts of the business to inform communications strategies and positions.
  • External relations - build productive relationships with agencies, consultants and other external stakeholders. Ensure high productivity, response and deep understanding of our business by PR agencies. Establish and manage media relationships to enable quality media coverage, across a range of industries such as data centre and tech trade, finance, and sustainability.
  • Platform management – manage all communications platforms and activities such as the intranet, all staff meetings, media monitoring, internal and external social media. Evaluate and optimise as needed.
  • Team Leadership – lead a team of communications professionals to deliver the corporate communications plan and program and responses to a high standard and on time
  • Compliance & Governance – Establish processes and manage approvals to ensure communications adhere to governance requirements
  • Effectiveness - Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication plans, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
Requirements
  • You have 10+ years’ experience in communications leadership
  • You have relevant tertiary education
  • You have successfully built highly effective communications strategies from the ground up through to execution
  • Ideally, you have experience working in technology, data centres, energy, finance or commercial real estate across APAC (and Japan)
  • You excel at distilling complex information into clear, concise, and easy to understand messaging and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You are a creative communicator and master of story telling
  • You are highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • You can build trusted relationships at all levels across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • You have successfully built highly effective media relationships.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Ideally, you are proficient in Meltwater and LinkedIn company page management
