As the Senior Director, Corporate Development (based in Sydney HQ), you will report to the Vice President, Investment (based in Singapore), leading a high performing team and working closely with senior stakeholders across AirTrunk, Blackstone and other capital providers.
Your Day to Day- Undertake detailed financial analysis for a diverse range of capital projects including customer leasing, real estate acquisitions, new market entry, partnerships and other investment activities
- Lead engagement with Blackstone in relation to financial analysis (including returns assessment, cash flow and liquidity modelling) and investment approvals (including briefing papers, investor Q&A, preparation and presentation of approval papers)
- Create and manage financial models for equity and debt raisings
- Consider appropriate sources of funding, analyse alternate funding options and ensure appropriate allocation of capital for both organic and inorganic growth
- Assist in the negotiation of transaction terms and legal documentation, including for financings, M&A and other corporate development activities
- Help lead market expansion initiatives, including new market entry activities across greenfield, JVs, co-investment etc.
- Lead a highly engaged Corporate Development team including 3 direct reports (2 in Sydney, 1 in Tokyo)
- Work closely with senior leadership and peers in Customer Success and Commercial (to support customer leasing), Treasury (to implement debt financings), and Real Estate (to execute land acquisitions)
- A minimum of 10 years' post qualification (accounting, finance, law) relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy / development and/or industry
- Experience in funding/financing, M&A, investing and corporate strategy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and expertise in financial modelling
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with track record of influencing senior decision makers
- Demonstrated understanding of data centre sector and/or commercial real estate
- Demonstrated experience of managing direct reports and leading cross functional teams
- Ability to identify, simplify and solve complex business issues, working alongside a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Preference for candidates that are organized, adaptable and experienced to lead projects under time pressure, across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
