The Senior Director, Solution Consulting APAC is vital for driving Workiva's sales growth and achieving company objectives across APAC. This is a crucial second-line leadership role, focused on scaling a sustainable Solution Consulting (Presales) organisation and setting the strategic direction for our technical sales efforts. You will empower your managers and teams to deliver world-class pre-sales engagements and ensure they have the vision required to succeed. You are responsible for building, engaging, and retaining the exceptional talent required to secure our most complex platform deals and drive continued success.

This role will lead the APAC Solution Consulting organisation across Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and scale a sustainable Solution Consulting organisation with high levels of team engagement

  • Provide team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities, including leadership training

  • Shape overarching strategies and empower the team to execute sales initiatives effectively

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Sales leadership, providing insights into account planning and pre-sales strategies

  • Partner with executive stakeholders to align the Solution Consulting roadmap with global revenue targets

  • Enable the successful structuring and delivery of the most complex, high-value platform deals

  • Develop best practices and offer guidance on Workiva platform expertise and understanding customer needs

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management to ensure team success

  • Forge a strategic partnership with sales leadership, aligning pre-sales activities with overall sales objectives

  • Drive seamless collaboration with Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Implementation, and Sales teams for robust solution delivery

  • Implement innovative sales methodologies to continuously improve deal cycles and efficiency

  • Define and monitor key performance metrics to drive consistent commercial outcomes

  • Proactively gather field feedback to fine-tune product development and continuous platform elevation

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of related career experience in Presales, Solutions Consulting, or Sales Engineering within a technology organisation - with a significant tenure within SaaS organisations

  • 8+ years of people management experience, including leading people managers

  • Demonstrated success scaling and developing presales teams for innovation

  • Significant experience in leading pre-sales efforts for multi-solution and enterprise platform deals, driving successful customer delivery

  • Extensive experience managing a high-performing, multi-location team across diverse APAC markets

  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of knowledge and related career experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to infuse these skills into team members

  • Proven capability to collaborate with senior leadership across multiple functions to overcome obstacles and deliver results

  • Proven ability to translate technical expertise into tangible commercial value for customers

  • Deep understanding of complex business processes, the internal processes of a company’s finance function, and their implementation into enterprise applications

  • Experience with highly complex reporting, data management or business intelligence platforms

Travel Requirement & Working Conditions

  • Up to 40% travel for both customer and internal meetings is required

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office
