The Role

Our Merchandising team is pivotal in driving growth for Big Red Group’s Experience Oz brand. Through strategic product curation, seasonal planning, and effective onsite merchandising initiatives, the team directly aligns with consumer business goals to maximise conversion funnel, drive revenue per visitor and experience sell through rates.

This role focuses on enhancing customer engagement by crafting a seamless and high-converting shopping experience by optimising visual merchandising, navigation, and content strategy whilst maintaining brand alignment for a seamless and impactful online shopping experience.

This 12-month parental leave cover presents a unique opportunity to step into the Senior eCommerce Executive role, where you will take ownership of advanced merchandising initiatives, lead onsite optimisation efforts, and play a critical role in scaling Experience Oz’s performance. You’ll contribute to building best-in-class merchandising capability and supporting the delivery of key campaigns.

Core Activities

Product Discovery:

  • Create intuitive browsing through frictionless site structure, navigation, filter and search optimisation.
  • Ensure success of new products through a dedicated new product discovery journey.
  • Increase product discovery engagement by optimising site navigations and filters.

Hallmark & Marketing Campaign

  • Design and implement category pages to support seasonal promotions, marketing initiatives, and hallmark campaigns.
  • Plan and execute content for homepage, landing pages and PLPs.
  • · Work closely with the in-house Creative team to brief in visual assets for homepage, category, and campaign content, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.

Merchandising

  • Own and execute the trading calendar in collaboration with digital marketing teams, ensuring timely implementation.
  • Manage homepage, category and promotional content to align with seasonal and hallmark campaigns.
  • Develop and continuously optimise merchandising actions to improve, conversion, and sales.

Conversion rate optimisation

  • Lead A/B testing and UX initiatives to improve and conversion rates.
  • Support customer journey optimisation by identifying friction points and improving navigation, content flow, and page layouts to enhance engagement and conversion.

Reporting

  • Use Tableau and analytics tools to track and analyse sales performance, engagement, and conversion rates, delivering weekly insights and recommendations to optimise merchandising.
  • Weekly trade reporting, homepage updates, navigation refinements, and banner management.

Customer Insights

  • Monitor and analyse customer behaviour using analytics tools (Tableau) to uncover trends in browsing, purchasing, and engagement.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the experiences space.
  • Apply insights to optimise product positioning, category structure, and promotion strategies, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and brand goals.

Experience and Skills Required

  • 4+ years' experience in site merchandising, digital marketing, or eCommerce.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, eCommerce, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in using analytics tools to understand and enhance customer journey (Tableau preferred).
  • Strong understanding of online shopping behaviour and digital merchandising best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and resilience, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic changing environment and adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally.
