To help us deliver on our vision, we are looking for a Senior Engineer who brings a strong AI-driven approach to modern software development to join our Supersonic team.
About the role
This isn't just another "Senior Dev" role. In 2026, we know that the best engineers aren't just typing faster. They are orchestrating smarter. We’re looking for engineers who have already made the shift, those who use AI as part of how they think, design, and build.
You’re the kind of engineer who has fully embraced the "Cyborg" era of development. You use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and agentic workflows to do the heavy lifting, allowing you to focus on high-level architecture, system integrity, and shipping at a pace that makes traditional teams’ heads spin.
You’ll join our Supersonic team, working on a high-throughput, real-world platform where uptime matters and scale is non-negotiable. You won’t just write code. You’ll shape how the team uses AI to move faster, solve harder problems, and build more resilient systems.
This is a hands-on role with real influence. You’ll set the standard for AI-augmented development and help lift the capability of the wider team. You’ll be a force multiplier within the Supersonic squad. You won’t just be writing code. You’ll be defining how our team uses AI to build, test, and maintain a high-stakes ecommerce platform.

What will you be doing?
You’ll be a core part of the Supersonic team: our self-service ecommerce platform that handles high-throughput transactions for some of the world's biggest brands. When you're dealing with massive physical rollouts, "uptime" isn't a buzzword - it's the mission.
The role involves:
- AI-Augmented Development: Leading the team in adopting agentic coding workflows (like Claude Code and Copilot Workspace) to increase velocity without sacrificing stability
- Architecting for Resilience: Building self-healing application architectures on GCP that can proactively manage edge-case failures at the kiosk level
- Edge Excellence: Deploying and managing high-performance React/Node apps to ChromeOS devices at the edge, ensuring they are snappy and reliable
- Rapid Prototyping: Turning "what if" into "here it is" by using AI tools to quickly spin up new features and opportunities for our customers
- Technical Leadership: Conducting peer reviews that focus on architectural integrity, ensuring that AI-generated code meets our high standards for security and scalability
- L3 Support: Assisting with high-level troubleshooting (with extra compensation for on-call) to keep the world’s kiosks humming
Desired attributes & experience
We know the "perfect candidate" is a myth, but if you tick most of these boxes, we want to chat:
- The AI Edge: You’re a power user of modern AI coding tools. You don’t just use them for snippets, you use them for multi-file refactors and autonomous debugging
- GCP Pro: Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Firestore, Pub/Sub, etc.). You know your way around GCP like the back of your hand
- The Stack: A specialist in ReactJS and Node.js (both with TypeScript). You love clean, type-safe code
- Edge Focus: Experience deploying to hardware at the edge, specifically Google ChromeOS or similar locked-down environments
- Architectural Mindset: You think in terms of "self-healing." You’ve built systems that can recover from network drops or service outages without human intervention
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Pulumi or Terraform to keep our GCP environments consistent and reproducible
- Polished UI: You care about the "feel." Experience with Tailwind, Framer Motion, or specialized data visualisation (D3) is a huge plus
- Mentorship: You enjoy levelling up the devs around you and sharing the latest "pro tips" on how to get more out of our AI toolchain
