Senior Engineering Manager, ANZ

This position has the responsibility for project management including planning, tracking, and administration to produce completed functional product and product system designs.

What will you be doing?

  • Consult with the marketing staff, sponsoring surgeons, and manufacturing staff, as required, to facilitate proper design of products.
  • Act as a consultant on the design of special products.
  • Reviews design drawings, as well as approved final drawings.
  • Responsible for staffing department personnel, career planning, performance and promotional review, and long range personnel planning for department growth.
  • Fiscal responsibilities include yearly expense and capital budget planning, maintenance of expenditures to budget, and expense authorization below approved manager level.
  • Project responsibilities include assignment of appropriate personnel and resources to projects to ensure progress of design to schedule. Departmental projects include creation of new products and engineering maintenance of all existing products within department scope.
  • Assist director in strategic input, as required, on an ongoing basis to assess and propose projects to meet market needs.
  • Work with marketing and manufacturing departments to provide appropriate short and long term project communication with these departments and ensure coordination of interdepartmental activities.
  • Incorporate group objectives into departmental objectives and distribute appropriate responsibilities and objectives to individuals within department. Responsible for providing department plans and objectives on a yearly and as needed basis to group management.
  • Establish relationships with key surgeons, both domestic and international. Also establish relationships with leading researchers.
  • Responsible for the integrity and innovation of all product designs within the specific product group.
  • Responsible for the legal issues, including patents, regarding specific product group products.
  • Assist in organizational and budgetary issues in the Visionaire Development Department.

What will you need to be successful?

  • BS in related Engineering field and 7 years of related experience. Or MS in Business, Marketing or Engineering field OR BS in related Engineering field and 5 years of related experience.
  • At least 3 year of management experience of direct/indirect management required.
  • Travel requirements: 25%
