Senior Environmental Approvals Specialist / Environmental Planning Consultant

What You'll Do
- Lead and support a variety of environmental approvals for renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Commonwealth, State, and local jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with ERM’s national and global practitioners to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for clients worldwide.
- Hone your technical, project management, and decision-making skills through diverse project experiences.
- Contribute to proposal development, including scoping and cost estimation in line with ERM’s policies.
- Manage project tasks such as subcontractor coordination, health & safety protocol adherence, and quality review of deliverables.
- Support relationship-building with key clients to expand ERM’s market presence in the renewables and infrastructure sectors.
What We’re Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in the infrastructure or energy industry, focusing on environmental approvals/permitting and/or management (consulting experience is a plus).
- Solid understanding of NSW’s environmental/planning approvals processes, including the NSW Renewable Energy Planning Framework.
- Experience managing approvals for infrastructure projects, with renewable or transport sector experience highly desirable.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively within integrated teams.
- Critical thinking abilities to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent report writing, data collation, and presentation skills.
- A proactive and motivated team player who is eager to share knowledge and ideas.
