The role

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making through robust financial insights. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and driving process improvements across the Finance function.

What you'll be doing
  • Manage and support the month-end close process, including general ledger integrity and reconciliations.
  • Perform loan book reconciliations and ensure accuracy of related entries.
  • Support daily payment processing and cash flow activities.
  • Act as the key point of contact for external audits and support the audit process.
  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).
  • Handle compliance and regulatory reporting requirements, including statutory obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
  • Mentor and guide junior accountants, fostering technical development and best practices.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic finance initiatives as required.
What you'll need to succeed
  • CA/CPA qualified with 4–6 years’ experience in financial accounting roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (NetSuite preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
