About Plooto

Plooto is a Canada-born fintech company on a mission to give small and mid-sized businesses the financial power to succeed on their own terms. We make payments secure, accurate, and stress-free so businesses and their accountants can spend less time in the books, confidently manage cash flow, and make smarter decisions every day. We’re a team that builds with integrity, agility, and heart, and we’re looking for customer-minded pros who share our passion to join us as we scale.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to elevate the depth, accuracy, and impact of financial decision-making at Plooto. This is a foundational hire as we evolve from a centralized finance engine to a more distributed, insight-led FP&A model. You’ll be our first dedicated functional finance partner — connecting business performance to financial outcomes across GTM, Product, and more. As our operational footprint expands, your work will help shape how finance partners with the broader organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance and working in collaboration with our existing Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in analyzing performance drivers, surfacing actionable insights, and ensuring they’re reflected in our budgets, forecasts, and month-end reporting.

This role is designed to complement our existing financial foundation. You won’t just update templates — you’ll dig into the “why” behind financial trends, pressure-test assumptions, and partner with stakeholders to close the loop between insights and planning. Whether it’s unpacking weekly and monthly fluctuations in FX Revenue, unlocking our understanding of Float Revenue, or forecasting working capital, you’ll bring analytical curiosity and storytelling skills that help leaders make smarter decisions, faster.

At Plooto, we have broad visibility into top-line trends — but limited capacity to double-click into what’s really driving them. This role will require persistence and initiative: you’ll need to follow the signal, ask the second question, and collaborate across teams to surface the underlying insight behind the numbers. The insights you generate will directly shape decisions across pricing, GTM focus, cost strategy, and OPEX planning.

Ideally, you’ll also lead the expansion of our process automations leveraging Vena, our FP&A tool. While the tool is currently in place, its potential remains untapped and this is a core opportunity for you to modernize our workflows, reduce manual overhead, and build scalable planning infrastructure that lasts beyond the next month-end and free up the team to focus on strategic partnership across the business.

Over time, your work will help shape a more adaptive and insight-driven finance function — one that’s more strategic, helping Plooto stay nimble, compliant, and cost-conscious as we scale.

if you love finding signal in the noise, turning numbers into actionable insights, and building for scale, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and explain key drivers of financial performance across revenue and expense lines, identifying trends, conducting root-cause analysis, and embedding insights into future forecasts
  • Play a key role in forecasting, budgeting, and planning cycles by adapting financial models to reflect real-time learning, business priorities, and strategic tradeoffs
  • Support our existing analyst in maintaining core models while improving their infrastructure to reflect evolving business dynamics
  • Distill complex trends into sharp, executive-ready insights for monthly packages, board decks, and investor updates
  • Push beyond surface-level metrics to seek truth in performance — combining financial data, business context, and stakeholder conversations to uncover what’s really driving outcomes
  • Play a key role in unlocking the full potential of our FP&A platform (Vena), collaborating with the Senior Director to build scalable models, automate workflows, and lay the foundation for broader adoption and long-term transformation
  • Migrate existing forecasting templates into scalable Vena workflows to modernize our planning infrastructure and reduce manual overhead
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance; experience in SaaS or fintech is a strong asset
  • Confident communicator who can influence decisions by telling a clear and compelling financial story
  • Highly analytical with strong business judgment — you don’t just report what happened, you ask why and what’s next
  • Skilled in Excel-based financial modeling and comfortable working with large datasets
  • Experience with forecasts and budgets, with a focus on iteration and stakeholder partnership
  • Bias for action — you’re comfortable starting with imperfect data, asking good questions, and iterating toward insight
Why Become a Plootonian?

If you’re looking to make a meaningful impact, look no further. We’re transforming the payments space in North America by delivering an unrivalled product experience to solve a real and pressing problem for SMBs.

The biggest reason small businesses fail is poor financial management and cash flow — and Plooto fixes that. We have strong product-market fit, a massive opportunity ahead, and the backing of experienced fintech leaders.

You’ll join a team that cares deeply about customer impact, takes pride in our craft, and moves with urgency. We’re just getting started — and you’ll help shape the next chapter of our growth story.

Join Plooto and be part of a mission that matters.
