About Aplazo

Aplazo is Mexico’s leading “buy now, pay later” platform, giving consumers flexible, transparent payment solutions while helping merchants grow their sales. We’re a fast-growing Series B fintech backed by top global investors, combining technology, data, and design to redefine financial access.

Role's Mission

The Senior FP&A Analyst owns the financial models, forecasts, and analysis that turn Aplazo's numbers into decisions. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Risk, and the business—building the forecasts leadership relies on, tracking the unit economics that drive the BNPL model, and flagging what's changing before it shows up in the P&L. Reporting to the Finance and Strategy Lead, you'll own core financial processes end-to-end while partnering closely with Commercial, Risk, and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Analyze variances against budget/forecast and identify one-off or extraordinary impacts before they distort the picture.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Build, update, and defend the monthly forecast and budget-vs-actual cycle that leadership uses to make decisions.

  • Financial Modeling: Develop advanced models that project P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet five years out, and maintain unit-economics models that scale as the business grows.

  • Unit Economics Analysis: Analyze core BNPL unit economics—GMV, take rate, approval rate, cost of risk—and how they move together.

  • Leadership and Board Reporting: Prepare clear, accurate reporting materials on a tight deadline.

  • Digital Transformation: Automate and improve reporting, replacing manual spreadsheet work with repeatable, self-serve processes.

Requirements

Must Have

  • 3+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, private equity, or other strategic finance roles

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling (three-statement models, unit economics)

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent demonstrable experience)

  • Strong written and verbal communication—can explain a variance to a non-finance audience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech, BNPL, lending, or payments

  • Python for financial analysis or automation

Key Skills

  • Financial modeling

  • Strategic vision

  • Precision under deadline

  • Results orientation

  • Clear communication

Languages

  • English (advanced)
