Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and own core frontend product features with a strong focus on performance, security, and scalability.
- Lead frontend architecture improvements and product refactoring to ensure code quality and long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with North America teams to deliver features quickly and support AI-related product initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, best practices, and technical leadership.
- Participate in oncall rotation during Japan business hours to handle urgent production issues when the North America team is offline.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years of web development experience with strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript fundamentals.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular (preferred) or React.
- Familiarity with web testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver) and demonstrated experience writing end-to-end (E2E) test cases, test suites, and unit tests for front-end code. Experience extending and optimizing existing applications and performing performance tuning.
- Experience with Node.js server-side development and database interface development.
- Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Must be a resident of Japan.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with annotated JavaScript such as TypeScript, as well as related technologies (e.g., SCSS, mixins).
- Experience with data visualization and proficiency in SQL programming.
- Background in Java/Spring programming with knowledge of back-end web development and big data analysis.
- Proficiency in using version control and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in Agile environments, including managing sprints and backlogs in Jira.
Benefits
Compensation: Annual salary range of JPY 8MM-10MM, commensurate with experience.
