Job DescriptionAs Gen AI Engineer at NCS Australia, you’ll be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn. You’ll build sophisticated agentic workflows powered by Generative AI and apply advanced analytics, NLP/NLU, and statistical techniques to solve complex business challenges. Your work will focus on optimising model performance and scalability in a high-volume, real-time telecommunications environment.
You’ll collaborate closely with data engineers to prepare and transform large-scale datasets using tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and SQL. Leveraging cloud-native technologies across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure, you’ll deploy AI models into production and ensure their ongoing effectiveness through robust monitoring systems using MLOps tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, and TensorBoard.
In this cross-functional role, you’ll partner with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to define impactful AI use cases. You’ll also play a key role in communicating complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences, driving adoption and strategic decision-making. Staying current with the latest advancements in AI, data science, and MLOps will be essential as you help shape the future of AI at NCS Australia. A key part of your role will be presenting compelling Proof of Value demonstrations and clearly communicating the business impact of your technical work to a diverse range of client stakeholders
Qualifications- Prior experience in a similar role, ideally in an enterprise level project environment.
- Solid, hands-on experience building advanced AI solutions using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns, with practical skills in frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, and platforms such as the Google AI Development Kit.
- Experience implementing MLOps principles and automated CI/CD pipelines to deploy, monitor, and maintain the performance and health of machine learning models in production.
Significant years of experience in AI/ML development with a strong technical track record. - Proficiency in Python, R, and Java.
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
- Familiarity with data engineering platforms (Spark, Hadoop, SQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Solid understanding of layered architecture and microservices.
- Strong skills in automated testing and performance measurement for AI solutions.
- Proven ability to discover and design novel AI use cases or products.
- An exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences, from technical teams to non-technical business stakeholders
