The Role

This is a rare opportunity to break into venture capital and work directly with the next generation of Australian founders.

Based in Sydney, you’ll join Antler’s Scouting team (11 people across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane), reporting to the VP of Scouting, Marketing & Operations. You will lead founder sourcing across New South Wales, identifying and building relationships with exceptional early-stage entrepreneurs and bringing the best talent into Antler’s Residency.

You’ll be deeply embedded in the startup ecosystem — meeting founders, assessing talent, and helping shape the pipeline of future Antler-backed companies. Alongside sourcing founders, you’ll contribute to the investment process and help support founders through Residency as they build and launch their companies.
Responsibilities

  • Source exceptional founders: Identify and engage the most promising pre-seed founders across New South Wales
  • Build founder pipelines: Develop and execute scouting strategies including market mapping, targeted outreach and ecosystem engagement
  • Assess founder potential: Review applications and interview founders, looking for grit, resilience and exceptional talent
  • Ecosystem presence: Represent Antler at startup events, meetups and conferences to uncover emerging founder talent
  • Drive operational excellence: Improve scouting processes, pipeline management and automation to strengthen founder recruitment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Marketing on campaigns, partnerships and content that attract top founders
  • Support founders: Provide guidance during Residency and contribute to investment discussions around the most promising teams
Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional experience in a tech startup in a commercial role or recruiting for the tech sector or as a founder
  • A good understanding of and experience in implementing GTM and 0-1 strategies, with a “hunter” mentality
  • “Plugged-in” to the tech/startup community and have an active network
  • A confident people person with a curiosity to uncover mission-driven individuals
  • Have high EQ and ability to forge trusting relationships quickly
  • Sydney based

Nice to have

  • Experience with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar tools
  • Interest in building AI workflows or automations
