The Role

What You’ll Do
Product & Technology - Software Engineering & IT develops and maintains Telstra's software and IT systems, working on some really cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Define the Business Testing strategy and execution roadmap for high-impact initiatives, driving seamless collaboration across testing domains and engineering teams to accelerate quality outcomes.
Validate and endorse the integrity of business solutions and processes through continuous, iterative quality assurance—ensuring they meet strategic objectives and deliver exceptional value.
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to understand and validate business processes and requirements.
Provide input and feedback during initiative ideation sessions on requirements and prospective solutions, using your analytical thinking skills to anticipate, uncover, and resolve gaps during these early stages of delivery.
Drive business test planning with an overall Quality and Test plan that is optimized to provide the necessary test coverage in production without duplicating effort.
Facilitate test plan walkthrough sessions to ensure alignment with business and delivery teams.
Create and execute user and business test cases for complex end-to-end (E2E) scenarios.
Work with DevOps teams to triage defects and expedite fixes.
Act as the business representative in deployment and change management forums, advocating for quality, stability, and operational readiness throughout the release lifecycle.
Contribute to the automation of manual test cases, enabling faster defect detection and seamless execution without manual intervention.
Use AI tools to enhance test development efficiency and accuracy.
Support deployments by conducting business testing during fix-on-fail windows to quickly resolve issues.
Collaborate within an agile development environment by actively participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, testing activities, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies.
About You
What We’re Looking for
You are an experienced leader in BVT with expertise in the Telco industry and hands-on experience in all areas of customer and order management testing, including fulfilment, credit management, billing, app experiences, assurance, etc., across Mobile and Fixed product sets.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of business drivers and technology to ensure Telco customers and agents enjoy a seamless and high-quality experience across Telco applications and tools.
You can create detailed test plans and test cases from high-level design documentation and execute them in a timely manner.
A problem-solver who loves debugging, troubleshooting, and making things work better, faster, and smarter.
Ability to design and implement effective Business Verification / User Acceptance Test strategies.
Experience in defect reporting and management using JIRA.
Experienced testing background on Web & Mobile applications, AMDOCS-based systems, and Salesforce.
A continuous learner, eager to grow and make an impact.
Passionate about improving product quality using customer feedback, product team interactions, and your intuition.
Understand the difference between Business Testing and other forms of testing.
Passionate about transforming business testing by leveraging production monitoring and observability tools to drive proactive quality assurance and real-time validation.
Experience working in an Agile setup and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Passionate about mentoring and coaching, helping other testers develop a customer-first mindset.
Ability to collaborate with leadership, developers, and product teams to drive quality as a culture.
What’ll Give You Bonus Points
You've helped build a quality-first culture in previous roles.
Experienced in observability, site reliability engineering (SRE), and production monitoring tools such as New Relic, with a strong focus on ensuring system performance and business continuity.
You know a thing or two about automation and contract testing, and you're comfortable discussing and getting hands-on when needed.
You have an understanding of TDD and BDD automation techniques.
You’ve dabbled in AI-driven test automation.
