Job Grade: 07
Hiring Manager: William Plunkett

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Machine Support Specialist to Join our ANZ Aftermarket & Customer Support team to investigate equipment enquiries and help deliver practical technical solutions.

You may be an experienced technician with John Deere, agricultural machinery, construction equipment or have heavy-equipment exposure. Alternatively, you could be an engineering student or recent graduate with strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in equipment technology.

What matters most is your ability to understand how equipment works, investigate problems logically and communicate useful technical information.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical and hydraulic machine issues with dealers and factory partners.
  • Investigate technical problems, identify root causes and document clear solutions in the relevant support databases.
  • Connect issues with the right teams across design engineering, product support, technical authoring and manufacturing to drive resolution.
  • Act as the unit DTAC lead, providing technical guidance and workflow direction to other Machine Support Specialists.
  • Collect field failure data when required and translate evidence into useful input for factory problem-solving and product improvement.
  • Coach dealers in the effective use of Service Center and CCMS to strengthen technical self-sufficiency.
  • Deliver practical technical training to dealer and internal teams.
What Will Make You Successful

You'll bring practical curiosity, sound problem-solving skills and the confidence to work through technical challenges.

You'll bring:

  • Technician experience with agricultural, construction or heavy equipment, or current/recent engineering studies.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in machinery.
  • The ability to diagnose problems logically and interpret technical information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • A collaborative approach to working with stakeholders.
  • A willingness to learn John Deere products, systems and processes.

Direct John Deere product experience would help you get up to speed quickly, but candidates with relevant transferable technical capability are encouraged to apply.

What Will You Learn?

You'll develop practical knowledge of John Deere equipment, product-support processes and technical systems while working alongside experienced technical specialists.

You do not need to know every John Deere system on day one. This role suits someone who can bring core mechanical and problem-solving capability while continuing to build product knowledge.

Why Join Us?
  • Build a career where you can grow, make an impact and be supported to do your best work.
  • A friendly and inclusive culture where employee wellbeing matters.
  • Professional development, including education and training.
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave for new parents.
  • Purchase leave and paid community leave.
  • Health, safety and wellbeing programs.

Ready to Apply?

If you're a technician ready to take your equipment knowledge further, or an engineering student looking to build practical industry experience, we'd love to hear from you.
