Business Banking Risk Management is responsible for approval and oversight of risk frameworks and processes. The Analytics and Visualisation team is a fast-pace, high performing team with great development opportunities. As part of the larger Credit Strategy and Analytics team, we are responsible for driving data-driven risk strategies and analysis through our expertise in data analytics and visualisation.

Here, you will turn your passion into reality. You will be responsible for driving proactive risk oversight by working with a diverse range of modern technologies and data, leading to better risk outcomes and customer experience.
In this role you will:

Lead, develop and mentor a team of five direct reports, including prioritisation and allocation of work while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Generate data-driven insights and identify emerging risks and issues to improve decision making, enhance efficiency on portfolio oversight and enable proactive risk strategies.

Provide portfolio oversight and strategic insight to internal and external stakeholders (including APRA, and external profit announcement reporting) on risk related issues.

Support development of analytics and insights capability for Business Bank Risk Management (financial & non-financial risk).

Enhance access and visualisation of key management reporting by designing and building simple, automated, and feature-rich interactive dashboards for self-service reporting.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement initiatives through process simplification and automation.

Acquire an understanding of the Risk Appetite Statement, purpose of credit policies in the credit lifecycle, and interaction with Risk Appetite metrics.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

Experience in people management and creating exceptional teams.

Strong analytics background with experience in Analytics or Data Science.

Strong critical thinking skills and commercial acumen - the ability to understand complex problems and take a structured approach using data driven insights to solve them.

Proficient in R, Python and SQL skills for data analytics (e.g., extraction, manipulation, validation) and experience with data warehouses and engines such as Teradata, Hive and Spark.

Confident in constructively challenging the status quo to find improved ways of doing things.

Attention to detail and passion for acquiring new knowledge and continuously expanding skills.

Experience building interactive dashboards using R Shiny, Tableau or web design will be advantageous.

Degree in relevant discipline (qualification in Actuarial Studies, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Math's, or Sciences preferred).
