For us, these are exciting times. There’s a real potential for big thinkers to help us redefine what financial services could be. And turn our legacy into something even more positive and powerful for the future.

Help people create their tomorrow, while you create yours

We help people with their banking, super, retirement and finances. Through upturns, downturns, recessions, and major life transitions. Every day, we help people see and make more of their financial potential, so that they can create their tomorrow. And we’ve been doing it for over 170 years.

If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.

How you’ll make an impact

The Senior Manager, Business Op Risk is a key First Line Risk leadership role accountable for embedding effective and pragmatic risk management across AMP Bank. Partnering closely with senior business leaders, the role ensures risks are identified, understood, managed, and reported in line with the Risk Management Framework, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations. The role plays a critical part in strengthening risk culture and decision making by providing trusted advice, challenge, and oversight, while enabling the safe delivery of strategic objectives and customer outcomes. The Senior Manager leads core risk practices, including risk and control assessments, incident and issue management, and continuous improvement driven by risk insights and trends.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Strategic Risk Partnering: Act as a trusted First Line Risk adviser to senior leaders, providing pragmatic risk insight, challenge, and guidance to support strategy, change, and strong customer outcomes.
  • Incident, Issue & Control Management: Lead effective management of incidents, issues, breaches, and actions, ensuring strong root cause analysis, sustainable remediation, and robust controls (including access and segregation of duties).
  • Risk Governance, Reporting & Assurance: Deliver clear, insightful risk reporting to executives and governance forums, escalate risks outside appetite, and partner with Second Line, Compliance, and Assurance on reviews and regulatory activities.
  • Risk Culture, Capability & Continuous Improvement: Embed strong risk ownership, uplift risk maturity through RCSAs, control testing and insights, coach teams on risk practices, and drive continuous improvement across business processes and change initiatives.

What you will bring to the team

  • 3+ years’ leadership experience in Financial Services risk or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulation and risk frameworks.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders with clear, pragmatic risk advice.
  • Experience delivering executive‑level risk reporting and insights.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn data into action.
  • Confident decision‑maker with sound judgement and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams in fast‑paced environments.
  • High attention to detail, strong prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll thrive here if…

If you can adapt from BAU to the ambiguous with ease, you’ll do well here. Change is never easy, so bring your commitment, grit and growth mindset.

Because we run lean, you’ll be expected to jump in and deliver across a variety of areas. Meaning, you’ll be closer to the action and executive decisions that influence where we go next.

If you’re someone that can hold their own, you’ll find AMP quite liberating.

Why we think you’ll love working at AMP

In fact, most of what makes AMP such a welcoming, enjoyable place to work are our people. Wherever you go, you’ll find moments to connect, feel valued and do meaningful work.

Whether it’s through our first-class leaders who are invested in you and your success. Through year-round opportunities to volunteer, fundraise and give back to the community. Or in the everyday challenges you face as we work together to strengthen this great organisation. Challenges that will stretch you, amplify your potential and compound the impact you have.
