Primary Position Objective

Manage the development and implementation of financial, accounting and tax systems delivering best-in-class capabilities that deliver innovative solutions for all global finance functions whilst optimizing daily and tactical finance operations.

Job Environment

This is a key managerial role in the Global Technology Solutions (GTS) organization that delivers on the vision for ResMed’s financial systems. The role serves as the strategic business linkage between finance functions and GTS at a Product Owner and business unit level. It provides highly-valued consulting level support and guidance through key GTS initiatives, supporting the business in adoption of best practice using best-in-class solutions.

Finance application delivery is managed as products in an Agile environment in GTS organization. This role manages the relevant Finance Squad that has specific responsibility for building, configuring, maintaining and enhancing finance products through their life cycle, as well as providing day to day support to users of these applications.

 

Let's talk about Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Working with the relevant Global Product Owner to ensure that applications work in a way that improves the business and technical fitness of the application portfolio and minimizes its ongoing support costs

  • Work with the Global Product Owner as a key partner and subject matter expert in the support and delivery of application and business improvements that add value and support the business in achieving its commercial and strategic objectives

  • Develop productive relationships with Global Product Owners and key users to influence how applications can enable new sources of value and ensure that value is realised and business outcomes are achieved

  • Work with Director – Business Applications and Senior Director – Finance and Business Platforms to support the development overall GTS strategy in the context of the business strategy and initiatives of the global Finance functions

  • Identify and support user education opportunities that support the continuous improvement of ongoing application usage and encourage the development of a super user community

  • Provide people leadership to squad members, develop their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps

  • Develop squad to adopt the importance of providing a high level of service to its customers; quickly identify issues, understand requirements and be pro-active in working with users in multiple locations

  • Demonstrate flexibility in working outside of local business hours, in the timely delivery of new solutions and also to participate in discussions with colleagues located in other time zones

  • Ability to travel as required

  • Ensures that the squad demonstrates a strong service ethic, supporting the business as its customer and exceeding customer expectations

  • Empowers squad members to work under their own initiative in addressing support issues

  • Direct squad to deliver solutions on-time and within budget

  • Good organizational skills

  • Good communications skills (verbal and in written English). Ensuring the squad develops the same

  • Self-motivating, takes ownership and engenders self-motivation in the squad

  • Demonstrates initiative and engenders initiative throughout the squad

  • Demonstrate a degree of flexibility in relation to business and operational needs and the demands of a multi-national enterprise

  • Excellent documentation skills. Ensure that the squad develops clear detailed documentation that follows ResMed’s internal control rigour

  • Ability to translate business inputs into viable solutions

  • Demonstrates good team-working skills, working with other squads and other functions to deliver successful outcomes

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the environment in which ResMed operates, including the importance of regulatory and legal compliance

  • Define “as-is” and “to-be” process, data flows and solutions with key business stakeholders and share with other Tribes & Squads

  • Coordinate and lead medium to large IT initiatives and enhancements as required through concept, design, build and deploy stages         

 

Let's talk about Qualifications and Experience

Minimum

  • 5+ Years of EPM Experience

  • 11+ years’ experience of working in financial application support and development

  • At least two end-to-end implementation experiences in any two of these EPM Cloud products [EPBCS, FCCS, ARCS, EPCMCS, EDMCS, TRCS, NR]

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Essbase

  • Knowledge of EPM Automate

  • Desired functional knowledge (Understand of Income statement, different methods of consolidation and their calculations and disclosure in financial statements)

  • Sound Knowledge on Financial Reports and SmartView Reports

  • Good understanding of Oracle Financial Applications like AP, AR, GL, CE and FA

  • Sound knowledge of financial applications and solutions supporting business processes

  • Experience of working in a multi-national organization

  • Experience documenting workflows with tools like MS Visio, Miro, Draw.io, etc

  • Experience/knowledge of accounting conventions and importance of local legislative requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Preferred

  • Experience in EBPCS & EPCM

  • University degree or equivalent

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role

  • CPA, CA or similar qualification

  • Accounting/Finance experience

  • Certifications in any of the EPM modules
