Senior Manager Regulatory Change, RBS Compliance

This role is responsible for assessing the impact of regulatory changes, assisting the business implementing the required changes, and assisting the business in responding to consultation papers across Retail Banking Services. We are open to the role being based anywhere in Australia, though the preference is for Sydney.

RBS Compliance sits within the broader Group Operational Risk and Compliance division within CommBank, with a dotted reporting line through to the RBS Chief Risk Officer. The RBS Compliance Team consists of Regulatory Engagement, Regulatory Change, Incident and Issue Management, Compliance Advisory, and a Frameworks and Assurance team. RBS also includes the Bankwest brand.
The main priorities for the team are:
To support sustainable business growth across RBS through identification, analysis, impact assessment and reporting of legal and regulatory change impacting RBS.
To support the Group in meeting the regulatory change requirements of the Obligation Management Standard.
What a day in your role will look like?
Support the business by monitoring, analysing, assessing impact, and reporting all applicable regulatory change relevant to RBS.
Provide compliance advice, support, and approval to stakeholders with respect to new laws and regulations, to ensure we have the correct understanding of and assessment of applicability, and ultimately compliance with new laws and regulations.
Drive co-ordination across RBS and the wider group with compliance colleagues in relation to regulatory change.
Participate and contribute to Group Compliance initiatives and projects.
What successful candidates will look like?

Extensive experience in a legal, compliance, or retail banking environment.
Strong team focus with excellence in driving results.
Superior communication skills, with the ability to translate regulation into practical interpretation.
Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and ensure strong and effective relationships.
Ability to manage multiple streams of work and competing priorities, applying an organized and methodical approach.
