The Platform Services & Data team sits within ASX Technology’s Engineering division and is responsible for the build and run of data systems that service a broad range of ASX’s data use cases. The broader team also provides delivery, enablement, testing and governance services across the data, integration and cloud platforms supported by the wider Platform Engineering team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Data platform strategy – Evolve and execute a data platform strategy and operating model aligned to the broader ASX data strategy, that will see ASX surfacing its data through a governed platform and marketplace to drive reporting, analytics and product development.

  • Platform ownership – Take responsibility for the build and run of the new data platform, driving its lifecycle development and maturity while ensuring reliable service management for the important workloads it supports.

  • Data engineering – Oversee a newly established data engineering team to build re-usable frameworks and enable their adoption within line-of-business data and reporting functions.

  • Analytics and AI – Promote a data-driven culture by building self-service capabilities for data discovery, insights, analytics and AI, deploying frameworks and tools that inspire business teams.

Must have:

  • Proven experience in building and operating modern data platforms with reusable frameworks and strong data management at their core.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services including Glue, Athena, Redshift, S3 Tables, DMS and DataZone, and data integration patterns including file, database, CDC, Kafka streaming and API.

  • Demonstrated success in implementing data strategies that promote data centricity through increased access to data, analytics, and the adoption of responsible AI.

  • Experience working within a platform/product operating model where centrally operated platforms support efficient and effective data production and consumption by domain-aligned teams.

  • Strong service management experience gained through operating critical platforms and workloads in highly governed enterprises.

  • Record of building strong relationships with stakeholders, customers and partners, through an ability to communicate with confidence and credibility at all levels.

Nice to have:

  • Financial services background and knowledge gained through industry experience.

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.

  • A keen interest in emerging technologies with the curiosity and drive to shape what comes next.
