About the Role

Our Consulting team in Brisbane is seeking Senior Manager level candidates to join our team with a focus on delivering Digital Strategy, Technology Modernisation and broader Strategy and Transformation engagements.

As a Senior Manager you would have:

  • 7-10 years of experience in technology consulting advisory in a professional services firm that spans beyond solution implementation or project management

  • A market profile and digital specialisations in development from a broad base of experience

  • Experience working as a senior team member and engagement team member leading and guiding resources to deliver on agreed engagement or other outcomes.

The role requires experience and awareness of broad digital services such as cyber security, data analytics, information management, plus wider strategic and change management frameworks.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and provide strategic advice on digital transformation, technology implementation, innovation strategies, technology risk, and technology uplift tailored to client needs

  • Deliver assessments of clients’ current technology landscapes and recommend solutions

  • Lead and manage engagement teams, ensuring timely delivery of projects within scope and budget

  • Foster and develop client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and satisfaction

  • Working closely with senior leaders to develop and execute business growth through business development activity, proposal development, scoping, estimating, and budgeting

  • Lead and coach junior team members and client staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

  • Provide informed recommendations to clients using in-depth knowledge on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

  • Develop and pursue go-to-market activities across key strategic focus areas

  • Contribute to Consulting and wider Advisory leadership and direction.

About the Team

BDO’s Digital Strategy and Technology Modernisation team is part of BDO’s wider Consulting function and consists of complimentary digital and transformation service lines such as Cyber Security, Data & AI, Strategy & Transformation, People Advisory and Sustainability.  Frequently, these service lines collaborate on engagement delivery to our clients.

Our Digital Strategy and Technology Modernisation service line provides tailored services to clients across Government, Private and Not-for-Profit sectors, regarding:

  • Digital and ICT strategies

  • Digital and ICT business cases

  • Strategic procurement

  • Current state and technology risk assessments

  • Process mapping, requirements gathering, future state design and transition planning

  • Legacy technology transition

  • CIO/CDO/CTO advisory

  • IT Program and Project Management, Agile Delivery methods

  • Technology Operating Model design

  • Dayforce implementations.

About You

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong experience in Digital and Technology Consulting that are focused on delivering successful client engagements and outcomes.

A key requirement of successful applicants for this role will be to deliver client engagements, build team performance and capability at both an individual and team level.

You will demonstrate:

  • Significant depth of skills and experience in relation to technology lifecycle as well as consulting engagement delivery.

  • Professional services experience and a deep understanding of relevant processes.

  • University, technology qualifications and certifications are valued along with project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2 or similar).

  • The ability to manage diverse client, business, and internal demands simultaneously to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to also actively support Consulting Partners and Directors in client delivery, business development, and overall operation of the team.

  • Dynamic communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and confidently to clients and stakeholders.

  • A collaborative and team-orientated attitude that contributes to an environment that is responsive and tailored to client and staff needs.

  • A process orientated mindset, able to support both our existing processes and help continually improve them.

  • The ability to regularly develop bespoke and tailored approaches and solutions to meet clients’ needs.
