The opportunity

We have a brand new opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager Payments to join the AUSPAC Consumer team. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Programs and Business Streams, you will act as a key liaison between stakeholders and external payment providers, ensuring that QBE and customer needs are met and payment solutions are maximised.

Building a payment product vision and strategy will be key, to enable and start delivering key changes for the internal and external payment journey for Consumer products at QBE.

Your new role

As Senior Manager Payments you will be a senior internal expert on payment solutions, including payment processing, payment platforms/gateways, innovative digital payment solutions ensuring the business stays up to date with industry trends.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Develop and maintain a payments product roadmap for Consumer, representing business and technology capabilities
  • Act as the voice of the customer and liaison between business, technology, external parties and the team
  • Define, refine, communicate, and lead the mission for Consumer Payments, making product lifecycle decisions, through a strategic and operational lens
  • Manage the payments strategic and operational considerations, ensuring regulatory compliance across the entire domain
  • Shape the Payments initiatives backlog by defining and prioritising streams, user stories, and epics
  • Inspect and evaluate progress, removing impediments to progress
  • Identify, own, and manage risks involved in running the business in line with the company risk management framework

About you

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a Payments role within financial services, understanding both current and innovation in payment solutions. You will also have;

  • Working knowledge of Payments within complex organisations, including operational understanding and product ownership
  • Strong skills working with and influencing Senior Stakeholders
  • Experience managing projects, change, and continuous improvement
  • Practical experience in designing, creating, and administering consumer Payment solutions
  • Experience or exposure to partner/supplier relationship management
