About the business/role/team
Are you a seasoned IT professional with a passion for leadership and innovation? The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is seeking a dynamic individual to oversee the direction and delivery of the technology that underpins our Policy and Financial Markets departments. This role involves leading and developing teams to achieve strategic goals and deliver exceptional outcomes while also fostering and building effective relationships with senior department executives.

Leadership & Culture: Foster a values-aligned culture that promotes high levels of employee engagement and achievement.
Strategic Direction: Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of the area, sharing accountability for overall performance.
Relationship Management: Build a true partnership between Business and IT to effectively manage complex and conflicting priorities.
Problem Solving: Willingness to challenge and approach complex problems with an open mind.
IT Services & Technology Planning: Provide business-aligned and industry-leading IT services, including infrastructure, operations, business intelligence, market platforms, enterprise systems, application development, security, and architecture.
Operational Accountability: Manage people, budgets, and processes to ensure operational excellence.
Team Development: Lead, guide, and develop individuals and teams, including project teams, to achieve area outcomes and encourage continuous improvement.
Policy & Process Improvement: Enhance policies, systems, and processes to ensure integrity, suitability, and alignment with industry standards.
Risk Management: Identify and respond to issues, risks, and opportunities, ensuring appropriate processes and resources are in place.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Manage internal and external relationships, collaborating effectively with key stakeholders to align expectations.
About you
Experience in leading, developing, and motivating teams, and coaching managers.
Proven ability to drive effective relationships across a complex matrix organisation.
Proven ability to manage and reduce risks in complex technology environments, ensuring high standards of reliability, resilience, and availability.
Technical expertise and understanding of business needs within the RBA or similar organizations.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
