The opportunity
Support the management of claims operational risk across all jurisdictions through effective monitoring of regulatory compliance, compliance with internal claims standards, claims leakage and the embedding of new initiatives.
Your new role
Developing strong and effective relationships with key business stakeholders, with a view to understanding business drivers, pro-actively promoting and elevating the QA function and positively influencing 1st line ownership and accountability;
Driving a positive team culture focused on providing meaningful technical insights to the operational Claims business units with a view to uplifting capability and performance;
Fostering strong business acumen and a deep understanding of the operational context of Claims within the QA team;
Building the change agility and resilience of the team to ensure the ongoing relevance of the QA function, including maintaining awareness of the changes brought about by the transformation of both QA tools and processes and operational claims business processes, and adapting QA approaches accordingly;
Pro-actively ensure feedback from QA activities is incorporated into claims training, coaching and associated mechanisms to influence operational performance and support the development of claims handlers, the management of claims operational risk, and the sharing of divisional best-practices; and
Appropriate performance and resource management to achieve the agreed QA schedule.
About you
Experience in General Insurance
A passionate advocate for improvement with demonstrated experience in implementing organisational feedback loops to uplift performance
Proven experience in leading teams through change
Able to build influential and effective working relationships with senior stakeholders
Able to articulate a coherent and succinct narrative through which to communicate insights to senior leaders (verbal and written)
High quality critical thinking and analytical skills
Keen attention to detail
Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills
Strong knowledge of insurance, the regulatory framework and claims process is desirable
Demonstrated experience in leading a QA, Internal Audit or Business Improvement function will be highly regarded
