Job Description

  • Lead Freight’s revenue management and optimisation strategy for Qantas and Jetstar’s International and Domestic networks as well as the dedicated freighter network, maximizing revenue and route profitability
  • Oversee demand, pricing, capacity management, and strategic airline partnerships, driving system and process efficiencies across the network.

The Senior Manager, Revenue Management & Optimisation has strategic and operational responsibility for ensuring the demand, pricing and capacity management for the International and Domestic networks across Qantas and Jetstar are optimally planned, configured and managed to achieve the highest possible revenue results. This role is responsible for defining and implementing the Qantas freight strategy & framework in the area of Revenue Management (RM) processes and systems optimisation.

The role is also responsible for managing our strategic airline partnerships and interline agreements. This role sets the strategic direction to ensure consistency with the Freight’s vision and requirements for revenue growth. The role has broad discretion and is focused beyond the immediate work group with joint responsibility of activities and resources to be shared with other parts of freight such as sales, network, marketing and freight operations.

As a people leader, the Senior Manager, Revenue Management & Optimisation leads a diverse team of specialist revenue management resources. The Senior Manager, Revenue Management is required to act as a coach and mentor to the team, in both technical and behavioural skills, and has performance, development and succession planning responsibility for the team.

You’ll have – 

  • 10+ years’ experience in commercial, finance, or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, Science, Management, or related; Master’s in Management or related preferred
  • 6+ years’ experience in airline revenue management, with progressive seniority
  • Proven ability to lead and contribute to high-performing teams with strong work ethic and energy
  • Extensive knowledge of revenue management theory, practice, and systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration, cooperation, and communication
  • Working knowledge of statistics and forecasting; interest in optimization, economic game theory, elasticity, and consumer behaviour
  • Excellent understanding of airline route structures and the impact of schedules on revenue
  • Advanced MS Office skills; familiarity with quantitative analysis software (e.g., R, SAS)
  • Ability to make independent judgments, decisions, and calculated risks
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret data, extract insights, and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Self-motivated, adaptable to fast-paced environments, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Resilient to change and able to manage complexity and ambiguity
