The Chief Technology Office (CTO) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.
The Technology Chief Controls Office team consists of a Centre of Excellence (CoE), Risk Management & Engagement and Operational & Technology Risk teams. These teams work with the business, including Project and Portfolio Managers, Service Owners, Business Owners, Enterprise Procurement and Partnerships (EPP) and Cyber Security to capture and assess technology and operational risks and test mitigating controls identified through major projects and change initiatives across the Group.
The Technology Chief Controls Office team brings together specialist risk advice, including Risk Engagement, Supplier Risk, Controls Assurance and Risk in Change, to support the business in the delivery of their outcomes within an effective risk culture. We work closely with the business to deliver insights to enable effective decision making and provide assurance over controls.
Do work that matters:
This role will play a senior role within the team, working alongside the Line 1 Risk professionals in the Chief Controls Office who are accountable for the strengthening, embedding and ongoing improvement of the risk and control environment across Technology. This specific role will have a capability, learning & focus, where you will be responsible for requirements gathering, process mapping and developing & facilitating training.
This role will work closely with the CTO functions within Technology to drive effective Technology Risk Management and assist with uplifting controls and risk culture for a large program of work under the Global Service Management area.
Key responsibilities for this role includes:

Oversee and accountable for the design and implementation / support the business to design and implement controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes, providing guidance and advice to senior leaders on their application

Document requirements and process maps for the As-Is and To-Be optimized risk related processes

Develop Training plan and ensure that appropriate training needs analysis has been considered for risk items and that training material is fit for purpose

Drive continuous improvement of the business control environment by using data to generate insights and reports

Oversee the effective design of controls for all new and changing processes and operations, and advise business leaders throughout the implementation process

Lead and coach stakeholders to identify, initiate and manage actions to mitigate risks and to strengthen controls, including issues identified through audits and other external processes

Lead a proactive risk and control culture and collaborate with the business
