About the team:

The Enterprise Strategy and Change Department coordinates the design and delivery of an enterprise strategic planning framework together with governance of the enterprise project portfolio, delivery of IT-enabled change projects, and the provision of an enterprise continuous improvement capability. Collectively these activities support the planning, prioritisation and delivery of change activity from across the RBA to achieve our Corporate Plan.

This role is a 5 Year Fixed Term Contract and reports to Head of Enterprise Strategy and Change and will shape the strategic planning and continuous improvement functions to drive strategic change for the Bank, while leading and developing individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver RBA outcomes.

Ideally, we are seeking someone who can think strategically, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and excel at problem-solving. This role demands strong strategic planning and high-level thinking, with an emphasis on identifying opportunities for improvement, developing effective solutions, and creating clear documentation. The ability to share insights confidently at a senior level and support cross-functional collaboration is key to helping bring other departments along on the journey.
About the role:

  • Mature the Bank’s ability to deliver its strategy e.g. facilitate strategic alignment vertically and horizontally across the organisation, evaluate and improve progress, link prioritisation and investment decisions to strategy

  • Facilitate the development of the Bank’s strategy beyond September 2027 with Bank executives

  • Contribute to specific strategies for certain departments and/or domains

  • Build a continuous improvement capability that explores, shapes and delivers initiatives to achieve strategic enterprise outcomes

  • Foster and empower continuous improvement capability within Departments

  • Oversee the advancement of the First Nation’s strategy and policy

  • Present papers to the Executive Committee, the Governance Board, and other forums

  • Coach and lead colleagues both inside and outside formal responsibility

  • Promote an open and dynamic culture through all interactions

About you:

  • Substantial strategy consulting experience and excellent business acumen

  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills at all levels of the organisation, including Boards

  • Experience leading, developing and motivating a work area or project of employees who exercise independence in their work

  • Demonstrated ability to own and communicate responsibilities in relation to health, safety and holistic wellbeing.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
