Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice, support and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy and investor relations.
Group Corporate Services is a support unit within Financial Services, managing the property, procurement, supplier risk, and operational environmental and social functions for the Group.

The Senior Manager Sustainability sits within Commonwealth Bank's Group Corporate Services Environmental and Social team and is responsible for assisting and supporting the bank across Climate and Nature impact portfolio relating to CBA's operations and supply chain.
To decarbonise CBA’s operations, in collaboration with stakeholders within Group Corporate Services and the Group, we need to identify opportunities to progressively and permanently reduce our operational carbon footprint and execute activities to deliver the reductions and meet our commitments. The role will span across our commercial offices, retail branches and data centres, as well as our supply chain, across our operations spanning Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and North America.
Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Manager Environmental Sustainability, this role will work with the bank's various business functions, both local and international, and will require excellent stakeholder management skills to develop and maintain strong, productive and professional working relationships.
Key responsibilities for this role includes:
Manage and lead the development of actionable plans, including identifying and sizing reduction opportunities, forecasting the impact and determining priorities.
Develop analysis to support strategy and business case development, including effective communication materials for various audience groups.
Monitor and report on the progress of sustainability initiatives and projects, including decarbonisation strategies and nature assessments, and strategic planning
Effectively manage relationships and communication across the Group with project stakeholders, delivery teams; suppliers and/or third parties.
Provides project leadership and engage all stakeholders in decision making to manage project delivery, facilitating quality decision making.
Manage, inspire and motivate the broader team in delivery of sustainability solutions that align to Group sustainability strategy and targets.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Experience within a decision support/ strategy/ advisory team within or supporting environmental sustainability, developing and implementing corporate sustainability strategy.
Strong knowledge of environmental issues, regulations, and best practices - including understanding of greenhouse gas accounting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates initiative, driven and detail focused.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and relationship building skills including an ability to influence others to drive participation, co-operation, compliance, and engagement.
Experience with business requirements gathering/documentation and quantitative financial modelling expertise.
