Role Overview
Sophos is seeking an experienced Senior Partner Sales Engineer to lead technical engagement across our channel partner and Managed Service Provider (MSP) ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
This senior role is responsible for enabling and scaling the technical capabilities of Sophos partners, ensuring they can confidently position, architect and deliver Sophos’ cybersecurity platform to customers across the region.
The Senior Partner SE acts as a trusted technical advisor to partners, supporting partner-led opportunities while building a strong and collaborative technical partner community.
The successful candidate will work closely with channel partner engineers, distributors and internal Sophos teams to strengthen technical capability, accelerate pipeline growth and expand partner-delivered security services.
Success in this role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, partner enablement leadership, strategic thinking and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical advisor for Sophos channel partners, resellers and MSPs across ANZ.
- Enable and mentor partners to successfully position and deliver Sophos’ cybersecurity platform, including Endpoint, XDR/MDR, Firewall, Identity, and cloud security capabilities.
- Provide advanced technical guidance for solution architecture, design validation and security best practices.
- Partner enablement and capability development supporting the delivery of technical enablement, workshops and hands-on sessions that strengthen partner technical expertise.
- Support partners in achieving technical certifications, services and product competency milestones.
- Work closely with distributors to ensure partners are effectively onboarded and enabled.
- Work with MSP partners to design and scale managed security services leveraging Sophos technologies, including MDR, XDR, and firewall platforms.
- Guide multi-tenant architectures, operational models, and SOC integration.
- Help partners build security operations capabilities and managed detection and response services.
- Support partners in technical discovery, architecture design, demonstrations, and proof of value engagements.
- Assist with complex solution design and competitive positioning in strategic opportunities.
- Provide technical support for RFPs, tenders, and partner-led enterprise engagements.
- Work collaboratively with Sophos sales teams to accelerate partner-driven pipeline.
- Build and nurture a strong ANZ technical partner community.
- Organise and lead partner SE roundtables, technical forums, and enablement events.
- Foster collaboration between Sophos SEs and partner engineers to encourage knowledge sharing and innovation.
- Promote best practices and success stories across the partner ecosystem.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Channel, Marketing and Product Management teams to align technical enablement with regional go-to-market priorities.
- Provide partner feedback and field insights that influence product strategy and partner programs.
- Support strategic initiatives designed to grow the Sophos partner ecosystem and MSP business model.

Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture or Technical consulting within cybersecurity or enterprise IT.
- Strong experience working within channel-driven or partner-led sales environments.
- Deep understanding of modern cybersecurity technologies, including:
- Endpoint security and XDR
- Managed Detection & Response (MDR)
- Network security and next-generation firewalls
- Identity and Zero Trust security
- Security operations and threat detection
- Proven experience delivering technical workshops, demonstrations and enablement programs.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
- Experience supporting MSP or MSSP service models.
- Knowledge of frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS Controls, or Zero Trust architectures.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, Microsoft Security, or AWS Security.
