Your Role  

As a part of our growth strategy, we are opening a number of roles in the Networks area, that would suit platform engineers with a growth mindset. The role of Platform Engineer is to design, build, run and evolve tools, infrastructure, templates and capabilities that our other engineers use to deliver business value, and to write code that automates running our infrastructure and environments. 

To achieve this, your role will require you to: 

  • Collaboratively work with engineering teams to design, build and run platforms that they can use to deliver customer value at greater quality, velocity, and safety. 

  • Maintain the underlying infrastructure to ensure that it is reliable, secure and scalable. troubleshooting and resolving network incidents 

  • Discovery and validation of network connectivity requirements using enterprise tools such as  Infoblox, Splunk, AWS Cloudfront & Route53.   

  • Work with project teams to understand network connectivity between VMware, Windows, and Linux end-points.   

  • Integrating to public cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Azure, and hybrid cloud network integration.   

  • Ensure all services within the IT service portfolio are managed with consideration to network, capacity, platform, sociability/scalability factors and target architecture  

  • Supporting and implementation of changes outside of regular business hours. 

  • After hours on-call (rotation basis) and occasional travelling to data centre locations 

 

Your Skills and Experiences  

  • General networking experience - 2-3 years, experience with troubleshooting networking issues in production 

  • Understanding of application flow in terms of networking 

  • Load balancing basics 

  • DNS/DHCP/IPAM experience - preferred 

  • AWS/Azure experience - fundamental services - knowledge required, experience preferred 

  • Network automation - any scripting language (Python or bash preferred), Terraform/Ansible experience preferred 

  • CICD - basic understanding, experience preferred 

  • Git - experience working with shared codebase 

  • Linux - basic CLI skills, OS configuration 

  • Enterprise experiencepreferred
