We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. Reporting to the Private Cloud Platforms Team Lead, you will maintain platform tools, processes, and solutions to meet high standards of performance, stability, reliability, and security.
About the role
- Automate infrastructure operations and DevOps processes, ensuring solutions remain relevant and comply with the Bank’s IT policies, standards, and frameworks
- Automate Infrastructure as Code services and capabilities, including establishing and maturing design guardrails, frameworks, and patterns
- Remediate risks and vulnerabilities
- Maintain a working knowledge of the IT Infrastructure platforms, tools, and software packages used
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to refine business and IT requirements
- Champion the development, design, and delivery of software defined infrastructure initiatives to improve IT Infrastructure operational efficiency, security, scalability, and stability
- Maintain technical documentation and associated knowledge sources
- Provide CI/CD and DevOps platform and tooling support
Skills Required
- Must have experience in on-premise or cloud IT infrastructure engineering, preferably within Banking and Government
- Must have experience in developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions and release pipelines using Terraform and CI/CD tools such as Git, Azure Devops Services and Artifactory
- Must have experience in VMware
- Strong experience using scripting languages such as Powershell to automate tasks for large scale IT systems in complex environments
- Strong experience on enhancing security in IT infrastructure and process
- Familiar with Operating Systems configurations for Virtual Machines, including Windows and Linux (RHEL)
- Experience in configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, and Chef a nice-to-have
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum/KanBan teams

- You have at least 4 years hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DevOps, or infrastructure automation operations or project delivery

- You are experienced in developing within an enterprise SDLC framework
- You are experienced in providing operational support within an ITIL framework

- You are a great communicator both written and verbally
About the team
At the RBA, Platform Engineering is key to automating the way in which we manage technology lifecycles. The IT Platform Engineering team maintains solutions spanning Cloud, CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and automation services. We are focused on supporting the Bank's journey to adopt Cloud and Infrastructure as Code, technology automation, and maturing platform capabilities whilst also evaluating and onboarding new technologies to ensure technology solutions remain relevant, robust, and secure.
