Job DescriptionThe Portfolio Management team is integral to our Group Life and Retirement business unit, overseeing the operation of TAL’s Group Life clients across the Industry Fund, Master Trust, and corporate market segments. The team's primary focus lies in the administration of policies and reinsurance treaty setup, as well as the accounting of gross and reinsurance premiums for the Group Life business.
As a Senior Portfolio Management Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day processing of gross and reinsurance premiums, and to monitor month-end activities for the team. Additionally, you will contribute to strategic projects aimed at automating and enhancing existing processes.
In this role you will:
- Conduct analysis of premiums to ensure that validity of the premium received and review against the underlying terms and conditions
- Calculate reinsurance premiums and prepare relevant reports in line with reinsurance arrangements for each client
- Prepare month-end journals, reports, and reconciliations relating to the Group Life business and work with the Finance team on queries
- Calculate monthly Group stamp duty liabilities and provide stamp duty related data and information for tender and rerate as required
- Provide timely and accurate data and insights to help the Commercial Operations Manager with informed decision-making
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or Actuarial
- Experience working within the financial services industry, preferably life insurance
- Solid foundation and technical knowledge of Excel
- Good analytical, problem-solving skills and documentation skills
- Sound organisational skills and ability to perform required tasks on a timely basis with minimal supervision
- Previous team management experience, desired
