Join the RBA’s Cyber Strategy & Planning team in a high-visibility role supporting the execution of the Bank’s cyber strategy and performance reporting across the cyber defence portfolio. In this role, you will work closely with the cyber leadership team to provide an enterprise-wide view of the cyber initiatives, bringing clarity on priorities, progress, risk reduction outcomes and financial performance. This is a unique opportunity to influence how cyber investment and change is planned, tracked and governed, while contributing to work that strengthens the resilience of critical financial services Australians rely on every day. 

About the role

  • Develop and maintain the cyber portfolio reporting framework, providing clear visibility of strategic alignment, delivery progress, resource demand and initiative health across the cyber change portfolio. 

  • Lead quarterly planning and prioritisation cycles for the Cyber security team, supporting integrated planning across Cyber project and BAU initiatives, including demand management and forecasting. 

  • Facilitate portfolio prioritisation and sequencing by reporting on strategic alignment, cyber risk reduction value, delivery capacity, cost and cross-portfolio dependencies. 

  • Partner with cyber leadership team, project managers and initiative delivery leads to provide an integrated updates on initiative progress, risks, issues and changes across the portfolio. 

  • Deliver regular high-quality dashboards and portfolio reporting for senior leaders, committees and board, including delivery performance, RAG status, milestone tracking and key insights to support management decisions. 

  • Continuously improve cyber portfolio governance across BAU and projects as well as reporting practices by improving planning and prioritisation framework, reporting and management visibility, informed by stakeholder feedback. 

  • Provide performance insights that link cyber investment, delivery progress and risk outcomes, giving cyber leadership clear visibility of execution risks, delays and delivery health

  • Partner with Finance to support financial performance reporting by tracking budget performance, procurement spend, staff resource allocation and strategic vendor performance. 

About you

  • Strong understanding of portfolio management disciplines, including portfolio definition and portfolio delivery, and how these are applied through planning, prioritisation and performance reporting. 

  • Demonstrated understanding on measuring strategy execution and performance using frameworks such as Balanced Scorecard, OKRs or similar, linking objectives, metrics, delivery progress and outcomes

  • Experience in a portfolio analyst, PMO analyst or portfolio reporting role in a complex enterprise environment.

  • Hands-on proficiency with reporting tools such as Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Excel and/or Power BI for tracking, dashboarding and reporting. 

  • Strong reporting skills, including the ability to provide delivery trends, resource capacity, RAG status and delivery risk indicators. 

  • Proven ability in stakeholder engagement partnering effectively with architects, delivery teams, finance and senior management. 

  • Working knowledge of cyber security concepts, with the ability to interpret and report on cyber initiatives and control uplift across the portfolio. 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear dashboards and executive-ready insights. 

  • Relevant qualifications or exposure to portfolio, project, agile or product disciplines would be beneficial (eg. Management of Portfolio (MoP), PRINCE2, P3O or Agile certifications). 

  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the Bank or IT industry and/or tertiary education specifically related to IT Security.

  • Working towards certifications relevant to IT Security such as CISSP, GCFE, GCFA, CISM (or other industry certifications).

  • Eligible to gain Australian Government Baseline clearance.
