This role will be a key member of the Global Privacy Team and will contribute greatly to our efforts to continue to grow and embed our privacy strategy, approach and priorities across QBE. This role will be critical to ensuring we apply a consistent and effective privacy program across the QBE Group, working closely with Divisional Privacy Leads/DPOs and other relevant Group teams.
Your new role

Support the operationalising of the Group Privacy strategy, roadmap and priorities

Providing expert, informed and pragmatic advice to the business on privacy risk, controls and responsible data use requirements and considerations

Support the effective implementation of Group privacy, data and AI Policies and approaches into the business to drive consistency across the Group and ensure management of privacy risks

Support on regulatory related matters, particularly complaints and incidents, across jurisdictions and divisions

Supporting the ongoing efforts to mature QBE’s privacy risk management for teams to improve their understanding and awareness of their responsibilities

Overseeing key privacy governance requirements including PIAs, privacy incidents and assessments, retention management, data protection, transparency requirements, regulatory compliance and other such activities

Supporting the development of meaningful reporting, metrics and insights to the business, senior executives and Chief Privacy Officer on the management of privacy across Divisions

Be part of a Global Privacy Team and represent privacy at relevant forums, working groups, councils and working cross collaboratively with other Divisional privacy teams.

Supporting efforts to build and maintain strong partnerships and collaboration with other relevant data functions including Chief Data Office, Cyber, Technology, AI, Legal and Risk and Compliance teams.
About you
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in advising on privacy risk in a global capacity with a solid understanding of varying regulatory environments and risk management practices. Experience in PIAs, managing privacy incidents, training and awareness, data ethics and navigating new technologies, particularly AI is required for the role.
Important to the success of this role is someone who has deep subject matter expertise, has experience in large and complex organization’s, has strong stakeholder management and partnering skills, is proactive and solutions focused whilst also collaborative and engaging.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional knowledge in privacy risks and requirements and has a strong ability to effectively prioritise, triage and manage the privacy needs of the business, has excellent time management skills and can operate autonomously.
A background in insurance and/or financial services is beneficial.
