Job Description

Acciona Agua is seeking a highly capable Senior Procurement Engineer to support and lead procurement activities across its Australian operations. This is a national role with a strategic focus, not tied to a specific project, and ideal for a senior engineer with strong procurement expertise in construction and infrastructure environments.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies, support contract negotiations, and ensure compliance with Acciona’s systems and standards. This role is instrumental in driving value, efficiency, and innovation across procurement functions while collaborating closely with engineering and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Support the development and execution of national procurement strategies aligned with engineering and project delivery goals.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.

  • Provide technical input into procurement planning and supplier selection processes.

Contract & Supplier Coordination

  • Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and administration of supplier contracts.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure technical compliance and performance.

  • Monitor supplier deliverables and escalate issues as needed.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, project, and commercial teams to understand procurement needs and technical specifications.

  • Provide procurement insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Compliance & Risk Awareness

  • Ensure procurement activities align with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

  • Identify potential risks in supply chain and procurement processes and support mitigation strategies.

Technical Support & Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including technical evaluations and compliance records.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in procurement within engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract administration, and supplier engagement.

  • Proficiency in tools such as SAP, Excel, and electronic document management systems.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across national teams.
