Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a Senior Procurement Manager. This role will report to the Executive Manager IT BPO and Corporate.

A bit about your role

As the Senior Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enabling nbn to secure externally sourced goods and services that deliver sustainable commercial value. You will lead the development and execution of detailed category strategies, with a particular focus on IT and Operations Software, that is supporting the systems that help issue work to the field.

Your work will span complex sourcing transactions, high-value negotiations, and the delivery of commercially astute analysis. You will collaborate closely with the Operations business unit and engage directly with software providers to manage renewals, run tenders, and extract value in sometimes low-leverage situations. Your ability to monitor contract performance and ensure compliance will be essential in maintaining quality and governance across supplier relationships.

This is a highly visible role that requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence senior leaders.

A bit about you

You are commercially minded and purpose-driven, with a strong background in procurement and a passion for delivering value through strategic sourcing. The role requires experience in software procurement whether through renewals, tenders, or direct negotiations and are confident navigating complex supplier relationships.

Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are a key strength, and you are comfortable presenting insights and recommendations. You thrive in collaborative environments, building trusted relationships across internal teams and external partners alike. Your ability to lead with purpose and deliver outcomes that balance commercial rigour with operational needs will be central to your success in this role.
