Do you want to use your passion and talent to make consumption more sustainable?

We're Europe's fastest-growing marketplace for refurbished products, empowering customers to acquire items up to 40% cheaper while making a substantial impact on reducing CO2 emissions compared to buying new devices.

Since our launch in February 2017, we grew to more than 300 employees and expanded across the European region. Throughout this journey, we've successfully concluded three substantial funding rounds, selling hundreds of thousands of products. Thanks to our team's efforts, we were recognized as the Top Employer in the DACH region (2023 and 2024) by Kununu and secured the title of an ACM Preferred Employer (2023).

As a Senior Product Designer (f/m/x) you will join our Category Management & Discovery squad in our consumer-facing tribe to design experiences that delight our users and have a measurable impact on business results. You will also become an integral part of our UX organization, joining designers, researchers, a UX writer, and dedicated team leads.

Senior Product Designers work closely with users, Product Management, Engineering, fellow UXers, and their stakeholders. Key to refurbed's success is our ability to experiment quickly, learn from insights, and have a bias towards action and iteration.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in Product Design, demonstrated through a portfolio of metrics-driven and exploratory projects within agile, cross-functional teams.
  • You bring a wide range of UX skills and proven expertise in Interaction Design, Visual Design, and User Research.
  • You understand what it takes to balance qualitative and quantitative methods to measurably improve end-to-end experiences in fast-paced, iterative environments.
  • You have excellent English skills to present design work, facilitate workshops, and articulate design decisions.
  • You seek feedback out actively from users, colleagues, and leaders, celebrate successes, and share your learnings openly, so others can benefit from your experiences.
  • You understand that the team stands above every individual and that the best way to improve a team is to lead by example.
  • You have solid competence in Information Architecture and Service Design, with mastery in this area considered a plus.
  • Ideally, you have experience with successfully managing projects and stakeholders beyond your cross-functional squad or the UX team.
  • Domain experience with e-commerce or marketplaces is a plus but not a must.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Measurably improve refurbed’s matching rate while being the responsible designer for refurbed’s category pages, filters, search, megamenu, and more.
  • Collaborate with business, technical, marketing, and UX roles to understand user and business needs and translate them into effective, appealing solutions.
  • Design and prototype at all levels of fidelity, balancing rapid experimentation with in-depth exploration of complex user journeys.
  • Carry out qualitative user research efforts such as moderated interviews or unmoderated usability tests, independently or in partnership with UX Research.
  • Lead or actively participate in cross-functional meetings and workshops to foster a user-centered design process and solve customer problems.
  • Contribute to our design system (Jellyfish) while honoring our brand guidelines.

You don’t meet every single criteria? If you believe you can thrive in this role, we encourage you to apply anyway!

WHY YOU WILL ENJOY WORKING WITH US:

Our Culture and Values:

  • Decisions should be made based on facts and not by hierarchy levels? We sure think so!
  • We embrace giving and receiving feedback, testing and welcoming new ideas, as well as sharing our knowledge across the company.
  • You fail sometimes? Well, so do we! We’re all just human, let’s learn from our mistakes to improve in the future!
  • No matter who you love, where you’re from, who you pray to, whether you pee sitting down or standing up – we are a bunch of talented people who enjoy spending our time making a difference!

Personal & Professional Development:

  • You can take unlimited number of trainings we are offering you through LinkedIn learning.
  • We partner with Likeminded, offering you private sessions with experts for your personal growth and mental health.
  • We frequently host internal workshops, allowing our teams to further develop their skills in different areas and enhancing collaboration across departments.

Flexibility:

  • We care about a healthy work/life balance. We not only function and support a fully remote setting but also offer the possibility to work from our beautiful office in the vibrant heart of Vienna – we love dogs, so feel free to bring your furry little buddy too 😊
  • We trust you to do the best job, so we don't care so much when you do it – you are able to self-organize.
  • You will also be invited to take part in our office weeks, happening three times a year, where you will have the chance to work side by side with your colleagues and enjoy the team-building events and on-site workshops
