Do work that matters

As a Senior Product Manager in a new program for CommSec, you will be accountable for defining, building and developing a new ledger structure for CommSec. You will be also accountable for the product strategy and overall product management. You will play a pivotal role in driving shareholder, customer, and risk outcomes, as well as delivering on the product roadmap.

We currently have 2 available positions. These roles will be secondment opportunities for internal candidates, or Maximum Term Contracts for external candidates, until end of January, 2027.

Your key responsibilities / focus areas will include

  • Lead as a product SME responsible for providing detailed requirements and business rules to support a complex multi-year program

  • Lead complex change initiatives to continuously improve the offering and processes, enhancing customer outcomes and value.​

  • Lead product process developments and enhancements utilising customer centred design thinking.​

  • Stay abreast of the regulatory environment the product operates within, and lead the execution of regulatory changes.​

  • Monitoring of product P&L, product performance and competitor landscape

  • Identification of growth opportunities and delivery of initiatives to continuously improve the product offering

  • Ensuring continued product compliance with regulatory obligations and relevant Group Policies and Standards

  • Gaining insights into customer needs, and leading change to resolve customer pain points

  • Proactive identification, mitigation, and management of product risks

  • Coaching of the Product Managers in the squad to drive consistent, high quality outcomes

  • Building and fostering of strong relationships across the product value chain, to ensure efficient delivery of product roadmap and resolution of issues

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Specific experience and in-depth knowledge of account payables and receivables concepts for cash and non-cash assets. Previous experience working with cash and non-cash product ledgers (asset liability /funds management background would be beneficial)

  • Experience working in large scale complex projects in the capacity of a product owner/stream lead/ SME

  • Experience in delivering projects/changes with investment products – equities/derivatives, back-office settlement and accounting systems.

  • Ability to innovate and design business solutions for back-office settlements, post trade workflows and ledger

  • Experience working with ledger solutions like PeopleSoft or equivalent (beneficial)

  • Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder engagement and management capabilities

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with experience navigating and resolving situations that may be complex or ambiguous

  • Experience in stockbroking or financial services is highly desirable, though not a requirement

  • Experience working in an agile environment and enjoy collaborating with others
