About the business & your team

Business Banking (BB) is a centre of excellence for innovation development and capability within the Group. We support the full spectrum of customers’ needs from the smallest businesses to the largest corporates. We have accountability for Cash Management, Payments, Business Lending and Merchant Solutions as well as managing the end-to-end business customer experience. The team is also responsible for the delivery of analytical capabilities to support our business customers.

Payments team is accountable for the day-to-day management of the Bank’s portfolio of international payment products, leading the development and delivery of inward payment innovation across the business, including the design and execution of the inward payments and open data (including open banking and digital identity) strategies. The inward International Payment team they manage and enhance the international payments solutions to customers across the Bank segments within CBA, as well as proactively working with the international correspondent banking network for the Group.

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the e2e development, distribution and management of products within the business unit. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for designing products and maintaining ownership of the end-to-end product systems and processes and is accountable for monitoring product performance, setting or reviewing the product strategy, delivering continuous improvement and risk buy-down initiatives and ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations. The Senior Product Manager is also accountable for team management and development.

 

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • The day-to-day activities of our product portfolio (BAU) and the positioning of our products with our clients
  • The end-to-end review of the product value chain and the drive to develop innovative new products and features.
  • Understanding of external future payment product developments roadmaps
  • Identify and assess the impact of regulatory change and risks that could prevent Banking Products from achieving its strategies. Plan and execute changes in line with these regulations as required
  • Liaise directly with Risk,  Operational and Compliance risk in terms of ongoing management of our products.
  • P&L management that includes product profitability through use of standard cost models and business case construct
  • Gather and present international market intelligence that relate to changes in competitor offerings
  • Understand Management Information System (MIS) and reporting requirements.

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Sound knowledge of the Financial Services industry, with an understanding of the Financial Institution market
  • Sound planning and time management skills.
  • Experience from working in the International clearing business is a plus.
  • A demonstrated client service focus
  • Risk Mindset – All CBA employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple issues at the same time.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills both oral and written.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking or related financial services
  • Relevant experience in Product Management, Financial Institutions business
  • Professional experience in an international environment is a plus.
