The Role:
This 12-month max term contract Senior Product Owner position is responsible for managing AP+ retail products across their lifecycle. This includes prioritising product requirements, owning the product backlog, and using market insights and user feedback to guide development. The role ensures products meet customer needs and performance targets, supports product launches and trials, and contributes to the strategic direction of the Product team.

The day-to-day responsibilities for this role are:

  • Manage product lifecycle activities to meet user needs and performance goals.
  • Prioritise product requirements and maintain the product backlog.
  • Use market research, feedback, and usage data to identify opportunities.
  • Support product trials, launches, and performance monitoring.
  • Define and manage user experience requirements and design goals.
  • Provide specialist advice within the area of responsibility and collaborate with other experts.
  • Lead delivery teams and manage delivery of small to medium initiatives.
  • Conduct business situation analysis and recommend improvement actions.
  • Define and manage requirements for large, complex initiatives.
  • Execute business process improvements and contribute to organisational standards.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and facilitate decision-making processes.

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner working on a payments product
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise product requirements and develop comprehensive product roadmaps, including ownership of the product backlog.
  • Proven experience managing all elements of the product lifecycle to meet customer and user needs while achieving financial or strategic objectives.
  • Experience facilitating product adoption through the creation of supporting content, campaign development and evaluation, and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to understand the context of use for systems, products, and services, and to define clear user experience requirements and design objectives.
  • Proven capability to provide authoritative and professional advice, guidance, and direction within a specialist area of expertise.
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate business situations and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience managing requirements throughout the full delivery and operational lifecycle.
  • Capacity to develop and apply innovative and disruptive approaches to enhance business activities and performance.
  • Proficiency in systematically analysing, managing, and influencing stakeholder relationships.
