The Opportunity:
The Senior Project Controls Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of large and complex projects within the assigned line of business.
You will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of project control systems, including complex cost, schedule, and risk management.
This position requires a senior professional who is highly analytical and organised, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
This role is Part Time and would require commitment to 3 days per week. There may be an opportunity in the future for this role to grow into Full Time.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
Cost Control:
- Develop and maintain project budgets.
- Track project expenditures and identify variances.
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts.
- Recommend corrective actions to keep projects on budget.
Project Financials:
- Manage Workforce Plans including updates based on actuals and forecasting resource requirements.
- Timesheet Administration including reviewing for accuracy and input into SAP.
- Support Accounts Payable and Receivable process
- Prepare and submit Monthly Accruals
- Manage client Monthly Financial Reporting including preparing estimates, foresting, and providing input into Monthly Project Status Reports
- Management of Project WBS elements including reporting on revenue and cost variations
- Assist in Bid Estimation and Pricing Schedule process for Contract changes
Document Control:
- Ensure all project documents are organised and accessible.
- Maintain version control and manage document distribution.
- Support project audits.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular project status reports for management.
- Analyse project performance data and provide insights.
- Assist in the preparation of project change orders and claims.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather data and ensure project control accuracy.
- Communicate project control issues and recommendations effectively.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with best practices in project controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the project control’s function.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree or certification in a related field (desirable) with a minimum of 10 years project accounting / project controls experience from complex defence or infrastructure projects.
- Proven Control Account Management experience monitoring and controlling actual control account performance against budgets & forecasts and providing ongoing support to Control Account Managers.
- Proven experience with EAC's and revenue recognition in line with percent complete.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Well-developed communication and time management skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
