The Opportunity:
As the Senior Project Engineer you will ensure the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works for a designated Project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control based on ACCIONA standards. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible in assisting the Construction Manager to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the project is delivered to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction
- Identify and assess risk to the project as well as the implementation of strategies to mitigate risk
- Use your technical skills to resolve design challenges and identify value engineering opportunities
- Cost and forecast control to assist the project managers with strategic planning
- Lead, develop and manage large project teams on the ground
- Build effective and & collaborative relationships to coordinate activities with supervisors
- Maintaining quality, environmental, and safety systems across the project
- Provides positive leadership to subcontractors monitor and control their performance to ensure the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with the specifications and relevant procedures
- Manages construction budgets to allow accurately profit / loss forecasting and monitors the financial performance for certain aspects of the project
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualification in Engineer
- 7+ years’ experience in a project/delivery-based Engineering role demonstrating strong leadership
- Demonstrated strong forecasting and budgeting experience
- Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
- Competent in planning and organising work schedules
