Senior Project Manager

Extensive experience in delivering complex IT infrastructure projects for government clients is essential for this role. The successful candidate will lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring strategic objectives are achieved through effective planning, governance, coordination, and execution. This role requires a proven ability to manage large-scale initiatives from inception through to completion, delivering outcomes that are operationally effective, financially sound, and aligned with stakeholder expectations. The Project Manager will be accountable for driving successful delivery across all project disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, stakeholder engagement, and change management, while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest professional standards.

Working with a key Transport Client, this senior project management position is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex infrastructure IT projects, partnering closely with client stakeholders to achieve strategic business outcomes while ensuring robust project governance and compliance with both client and internal standards. The role is accountable for driving end-to-end project execution, including planning, delivery, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and governance reporting, while producing high-quality project artefacts that support effective decision-making and account oversight. Reporting to the Account Project Lead, the Senior Project Manager will receive strategic guidance and support while maintaining responsibility for delivering projects to agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and governance requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
• Experience with government agencies, departments and successful record of delivering projects in these departments is essential

• Infrastructure project delivery experience including the deployment and migration of network, firewall, security, desktop and cloud technologies.

• Manage and lead a portfolio of projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborate with project teams to define clear project objectives and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress, identify and manage issues and risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in resource allocation and budget monitoring.
• Prepare project status reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders. This will include weekly/fortnightly client governance Project forums.
• Contribute to the development and application of project management best practices.
• Drive teamwork and collaboration among project team members.
• Ensure that projects align with departmental and company strategies.
 

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 10+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 5+ years in a similar role
• Proven experience in project and program management
• Proficiencies in project management methodologies, tools, and software
• A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology


Other Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are a plus

• Ability to work on site with client up to 2-3 days per week
