About the team and the role

The Planning & Delivery team is responsible for delivering critical planning, design, and capital works programs that enable Sydney Airport to achieve its strategic objectives. As a Senior Project Manager, you will develop, lead, and oversee a range of technically challenging and complex projects, managing the entire lifecycle from initiation to handover and commissioning.

You’ll be responsible for all aspects of financial and program management, leading small teams and programs of work, and demonstrating exceptional stakeholder management. Projects typically range from $5m–$75m, with the opportunity to lead a single complex project up to $100m or a suite of medium-sized projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
• Be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring on-time completion and adherence to budget, safety, and quality standards.
• Oversee contract administration, procurement, and tendering processes.
• Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring project requirements are captured and delivered.
• Prepare consultant briefs, business cases, and project documentation.
• Monitor works to ensure compliance with regulatory, WHS, security, and environmental requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project delivery.
• Report on project progress, budget, risk, and program, ensuring robust close-out procedures.

About you

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• At least 10 years’ experience delivering complex civil, construction, or infrastructure projects in a project management role
• Strong knowledge of project management, procurement, and contract management principles
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multi-functional projects in fast-paced, customer-centric environments
• Committed to safety, continuous improvement, and outstanding service delivery
• Experience in airport or operational environments (highly desirable)
• White Card and Australian Driver’s License required; Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification desirable
