Senior Quality Analyst

The Role SummaryR/GA Australia are looking for a talented and proactive Quality Analyst to join and help push the current Technology offering to the next level of excellence. This role will work with the Technology Director and the broader project team across Australia to drive innovation and opportunities across our portfolio of clients.
Here’s what you should know if you want to be a Quality Analyst at R/GA:
On any given day you might
- Create and own the Master Test Plan for complex projects, defining the scope, tools, and testing approach (e.g., Pyramid of Testing).
- Build and maintain scalable Test Automation Frameworks (from scratch) using tools like Cypress, Playwright, or Appium, ensuring they integrate into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Product Owners during the requirements phase to identify logic gaps and testability issues before a single line of code is written.
- Lead and mentor Mid/Junior QAs, conducting code reviews on their automation scripts and guiding them on testing best practices.
- Lead performance (load/stress) and security testing initiatives to ensure the system is production-ready under pressure.
- Own the "Go/No-Go" decision for releases, managing release complexity and coordinating with DevOps for smooth deployments.
- Identify bottlenecks in the delivery process and implement solutions to speed up feedback loops (e.g., reducing build times, optimizing regression suites).
- You don't just "check" work; you build a culture of quality where developers take ownership of their own unit tests.
- You understand that you can't test everything. You know how to prioritise testing based on business risk and impact.
- You are comfortable reading the developers' PRs (Pull Requests) to understand what changed under the hood, not just testing via the UI.
- You can confidently push back on stakeholders when quality is at risk, while offering pragmatic solutions to move forward.
- 5+ years of QA experience in a software development environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in setting up automation frameworks using JavaScript/TypeScript (Cypress, Playwright, or Detox).
- Hands-on experience configuring testing pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions (you know your way around a YAML file).
- Deep experience with mobile testing strategies (Real Device Clouds, Beta distribution via TestFlight/AppCenter).
- Ability to write automated API integration tests (not just manual Postman calls).
- Experience implementing load testing using tools like k6 or JMeter.
- Experience with Health and Insurance industry work / projects.
- Experience leading a small team of QAs
- Experience with Security Testing tools (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).
- Experience testing in a Microservices architecture.
- Experience working with remote teams (city to city / country to country).
- Experience working closely with designers, producers, tech engineers and business analysts.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
