An exciting opportunity to be part of Perpetual Wealth within our Direct Equities Team focusing on managing a number of portfolio strategies with ~$4.5b of client funds under management.

About the role

As part of a small, focused Equities team, you will:

  • Conduct ongoing fundamental company analysis within assigned sector responsibilities and report ‘conviction views’ to the team.

  • Participate in building, maintaining and monitoring company valuation infrastructure.

  • Build relationships across the industry (listed corporates, broker analysts, industry contacts)

  • Maintain and regularly review approved stock lists in accordance with Perpetual Wealth investment process. As part of a team, construct and maintain model portfolios which are expected to outperform the market and add value to client portfolios

  • Maintain and monitor regular reporting & update tasks – including valuation spreadsheets, performance reporting, document tracking.

  • Research and prepare regular and one-off articles, market updates, training sessions, advisor and client presentations.

About you:

  • Min 5 year's experience in an analytical investment related role (equities) within the mainstream institutional stockbroking or funds management industry

  • A passion for investments, particularly equities and strong analytical capability.

  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative finance techniques, valuations etc, and a high skill level with excel spreadsheets (good knowledge of macros and pivot tables preferable).

  • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) - ability to communicate with experts and laypersons alike
