Are you ready to join the Risk and Compliance Management team to play a pivotal role in transforming risk management at the Reserve Bank of Australia?

We are seeking an experienced risk professional to join us in the Line 2 Strategic and Operational Risk team to enhance our enterprise risk management frameworks, policies and risk appetite.

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Risk Framework, you bring extensive experience in enterprise and operational risk management. Your expertise includes developing, implementing and overseeing enterprise risk frameworks, policies and risk appetite statements, and collaborating with senior stakeholders. Your proactive nature, excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to prepare professional reports and detailed analyses are key to be successful in this role.

About the role

  • Support the design and maintenance of the enterprise risk management framework to ensure a robust approach to risk management and mitigation.

  • Draft, review and update risk management policies and standards, ensuring clarity and consistency in managing risks, controls and incident management across the Bank.

  • Ensure periodic review of the Bank's risk taxonomy in collaboration with Risk Owners.

  • Develop and refine the Bank’s risk appetite statements and tolerance levels, in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Provide oversight, review and challenge to ensure risk policies and frameworks are embedded into business processes.

  • Develop and deliver risk training materials to effectively communicate frameworks, policies and standards.

  • Prepare high quality risk reports and drive insights for management and Board level committees.

About you

  • Minimum 8-10 years in enterprise and/or operational risk management, preferably within Financial Services.

  • Strong knowledge or experience in developing risk management frameworks, standards and best practices in risk and controls management.

  • Demonstrated ability to strengthen risk culture and risk management practices.

  • Demonstrated capability to drive end-to-end engagements, identify opportunities, provide advice, and conduct high-quality risk assessments.

  • Proactive stakeholder management with demonstrated ability in negotiation and resolution management.

  • Experience creating dashboards, reporting, and training content.

  • Collaborative mindset with a high attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional level reports and deliverables, and data analysis expertise.

  • Experience in monitoring and reporting on the adequacy and effectiveness of the risk and control environment (including emerging risks, risk exposures and risk appetite).
